You were so sweet with him, and it brought me so much comfort.
I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the incredible care you gave my dad while he was in the ICU. You were such a bright spot in one of the hardest moments of our lives. I’ll never forget the day you walked in and found me crying by his bedside. When I told you that I really just wanted my dad to wake up, you didn’t brush it off or try to give me false hope. Instead, you gently reminded me he was showing positive signs and told me to stay hopeful because he was heading in the right direction. Those words meant more than you know — they helped me hold it together when I felt like falling apart. Even while he was still in the coma, the way you talked to him, explained everything you were doing, and treated him like he could hear every word, it made me feel like you truly cared about him as a person, not just as a patient. And when he finally woke up, your happiness and positive energy were so genuine. You were so sweet with him, and it brought me so much comfort. You went above and beyond every single shift. I even joked with you about staying “just one more day,” and the laugh we shared made such a heavy time feel lighter. I loved hearing you talk about getting home to your daughter — it reminded me that even with so much responsibility and stress, you still showed up with so much compassion. Thank you, Jamie, for being exactly who you are. You made an unbearable situation easier, and I’ll always be grateful for the kindness you showed both my dad and me.
