She was able to communicate with compassion and honesty. She was a light in our darkest hours.
My grandmother was a patient in the ICU for 4 days until she passed. I have been wanting to nominate Jamie since the first time I met her, but my broken heart over losing my "Mamie" has been too much. I only spent roughly 6-8 hours with Jamie, but she left an impact on my family and me that will last for a lifetime. Just so the reader of this understands, I am a nurse as well. If someone were to ask me to paint a picture of what it means to embody the nature of a nurse it would be a picture of Jamie Anderson. I can't even type without tearing up...From the moment she walked into our room, she put my family at ease with her gentle spirit, professionalism, and her warmth. She was able to communicate with compassion and honesty. She was a light in our darkest hours. She upheld my Mamie's dignity in her final hours and treated her with the utmost respect and gentility. It was as if she held her hand and ours as my Mamie walked from this life here on earth through death into life eternal. She is the epitome of a patient advocate, with grace, and respect. She represented Colquitt Regional Medical Center and all nurses worldwide like no other and for that, she deserves this award and so much more! Thank you, Jamie Anderson! Sending you all our appreciation and love!
