Jaena consistently goes above and beyond to ensure our patients feel heard, supported, and cared for. I witnessed her spend extra time with one particular patient during the progression of their cancer diagnosis. She developed a friendship with this patient that was not built out just the patient/provider obligation but by having a sense of compassion that I believe defines what the Daisy award was created to highlight.

She not only takes care of patients but truly cares for them. Her sense of empathy and compassion is the true meaning and definition of a nurse. Her kindness and empathy are truly remarkable.

Clinical Excellence:

Jaena is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, always ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care. I’ve seen her take the initiative in ensuring that every detail is taken care of and that patients receive safe, evidence-based treatment while also exhibiting compassion in the process.

Teamwork and Leadership:

Jaena fosters a positive and collaborative work environment. She actively supports her colleagues, shares knowledge, and helps create a culture of trust and mutual respect. Her smile and positive attitude is contagious to other staff and she always finds a way to find a positive whenever others can only see negatives.

Her leadership is evident in how she serves mentor new staff and support others in times of high stress.
