The admitting nurse made her feel welcomed and safe. He communicated clearly with the family and gained our trust.
We would like to recognize the outstanding nursing staff of the Behavioral Health Unit at New Ulm Medical Center.
Our sister was admitted to the Behavioral Health Unit late on a Thursday evening. The admitting nurse made her feel welcomed and safe. He communicated clearly with the family and gained our trust.
Our sister needed stabilization of her mental health, but she also had a number of physical challenges. Throughout her stay, the staff was able to assess those needs and communicate with the Hospitalist and specialty departments. We appreciate their attention to detail and professionalism.
Each nurse who interacted with our family was kind, compassionate, and caring. They patiently worked with our sister and personalized her care. We felt that our family member was “seen” and treated as an individual.
The nurse who discharged her was very thorough in discharge planning and communicated with the facility where she lived. As he walked her to the car, my sister turned, looked him in the eye, and whispered, “Thank you.” We echo that same sentiment with our deepest appreciation.
The staff of a psych ward could be seen as “unsung heroes.” Please know how much your care is valued. We appreciate your commitment to caring for each individual.
Jake was the RN who both admitted and discharged our sister. All of the other nurses were wonderful too, we just do not know all of their names.
We want to say thank you!
