Jacob Aaron Rodriguez practices nursing with insight, compassion and empathy. He excels in caring for people not only in the clinical setting but also in his community and globally. He has an acute awareness of health and social disparities. He has been an advocate for the youngest of patients demonstrated by his work at St Agnes Hospital in the NICU.  Jacob has a deep understanding of how important the parent role is in the care of children and that healthcare access is primary in keeping families together and healthy. He is a caring and compassionate nursing student. 
Jacob's global commitment to nursing and quality patient care was evident in a global health course to Guatemala in summer 2018. In Guatemala, he recognized circumstances of gender, social and health disparities while caring for his patients. He shared this caring and cultural experience with the professional role of the RN class and in a Nurses for Global Health meeting. Jacob has the ability to focus on individual patients but he also can see the big picture in health care where advocacy, health policy and innovation in nursing are the future of healthcare for this new generation of nurse leaders.
