Jaclyn stayed with me until her shift ended and made sure the next nurse that took over was one I had met earlier in the day, so I was with someone I knew already and felt comfortable.
Jaclyn was the first nurse we saw after I was admitted for labor. From the moment we got settled into our room, she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of. She made me feel at ease and comfortable. I was having super painful contractions, and she was patient as I had to breathe through them and helped facilitate my epidural right away. Her other patient went into active labor, so she had to hand us off to another nurse who was equally as wonderful, but once her other patient delivered and the other nurse was sent home, Jaclyn took us back over - just in time for me to go into active labor. She was so comforting and helpful through pushing. I was having a hard time and feeling so defeated, but she was incredibly encouraging and made sure I had rest when needed and kept pushing. Unfortunately, my baby had to go to the NICU right away. I was scared and heartbroken. She sat with me and explained everything that was going on and reassured me that he was in good hands and would be okay. My husband went to the NICU to be with our baby, but I had to wait two hours before I was allowed to go. Jaclyn stayed with me until her shift ended and made sure the next nurse that took over was one I had met earlier in the day, so I was with someone I knew already and felt comfortable. I can't say enough good things. As an RN myself, I was inspired by her level of patient care and compassion. I haven't been in Labor and delivery since nursing school, so I had no idea what was going on, but she made sure I fully understood everything that was happening from the moment I was admitted. I am forever thankful to Jaclyn for helping bring my little guy into the world and for her kindness in the most vulnerable time of my life.
