She treats every patient with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Jackie is kind and compassionate. She treats every patient with the respect and dignity they deserve. She is patient even when it is hard. She treats her coworkers with loyalty and is a great team member, always helping out other nurses.
There have been several times I have felt like I am drowning, and even though she is not fluent in OB, Jackie has jumped in to save me by answering call lights, passing dietary trays, administering medications, drawing blood for labs, placing IBs, getting vitals, and so much more. Jackie is a friend and role model of a nurse.
Today, a patient asked me to nominate Jackie for an award because of the compassion she showed this patient when she was experiencing a lot of pain. The patient said she had not been the most pleasant to be around, but Jackie was patient and kind regardless. Offering suggestions for different ways to manage the pain. She is also highly skilled, and the patient said Jackie successfully collected blood from only 1 stick when it usually takes several tries for success.
Jackie is a leader and an astounding member of our team. She deserves this award. I'm a patient who has diagnoses of anxiety, severe deep depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, on top of being a patient who is inoperable due to a cancerous mass on my sacrum grown into my spine and wrapped around my nerve system at this time. And I was in a room at this facility that had no TV nor phone line that worked so I was about to really lose myself while being in there alone but Nurse Jackie went above and beyond to go and get my phone charged at the nurses station and find me some crafty things to keep myself occupied and search word puzzles on top of always willing to take time out of her busy schedule to care for others and was willing to talk with me and do anything possible she could to help keep me comfortable and not upset crying due to not wanting to be there in the firs place when I was admitted from Bedford IU Health ER department.
She was very prompt on medicines and making sure you knew what she was administering before doing so, and making sure you did not have any questions for her or the prescribing physician before administering it intravenously due to having sepsis and being really sick with a blood infection. She is an angel from above for sure and has the heart, compassion, kindness, and respectful young lady nurse that I hope I would have her if ever admitted again.
I have been in the nursing field for years, and I have been a patient off and on throughout my 49 years. This young lady right here is phenomenal and goes above and beyond her nursing requirements to make me/patient feel welcomed and comfortable, and cared for during your stay at IU Health Hospital Paoli. She helped me in many ways due to all my diagnoses; she was a one on one of a nurse, therapist, compassionate individual in all fields to help in anyway she could to be able to keep me getting better and not losing myself in any and all of them and she would also peep in and just check to make sure I wasn't alone in there crying about to lose myself.
IU Health Paoli, I hope and pray that she gets the same in return and is acknowledged for the greatest nurse she deserves it in my opinion. She is the type of nurse you all need in your hospital. I have always said if you've not got a heart and kind loving compassion for others, then you're in the wrong field of work. JACKIE IS ALL OF THE ABOVE @ IU Health Paoli Hospital. Thank you to my #1 nurse, Jackie.
