The dialysis clinic was located two streets over from where the patient lived; this nurse volunteered to go to the dialysis clinic and take the motorized wheelchair to the patient's home, so she could be discharged that day.
A patient was brought to the hospital by EMS from the dialysis clinic, where she had been receiving treatment. When she was ready for discharge, it was discovered that her motorized wheelchair had been left at the dialysis clinic where she was picked up. The patient needed her motorized wheelchair when she got home, but there was no family available to help get her wheelchair home from dialysis.

Ivy was assigned to this patient on a Saturday and really wanted to help her get home; she did not want her to remain in the hospital and be billed for additional days due to not having her motorized wheelchair. She attempted to call the dialysis center but never got an answer. She found their website, which stated they were open and continued to work on how to get her home. She then asked her spouse to drive by the dialysis clinic and verify if they were open; the clinic was open, and they were having trouble with incoming calls, but they were able to call her. It was agreed that the dialysis clinic would leave the motorized wheelchair in the foyer in case they were closed when the patient was discharged.

The dialysis clinic was located two streets over from where the patient lived; this nurse volunteered to go to the dialysis clinic and take the motorized wheelchair to the patient's home, so she could be discharged that day. When EMS arrived to pick up the patient, she walked to the dialysis clinic, got the motorized wheelchair, drove it to the patient's home, and met EMS on their arrival. She then accompanied the patient home to make sure her needs had been met. I feel that she went above and beyond to help this patient.
