When my mom came in for emergency surgery, we were placed in room 510. Nurse Ivey came in the first night, just gentle and reassuring with the new journey my mom was on. She took care of my mom as if she were her sister.

Fast forward to me. I had bypass surgery, and she became my nurse. I reminded her about my mom and how she helped me with her, but also me, as I cried about my mom. She instinctively knew who I was, even though it was almost a year later.

She helped me be mentally strong to walk or even meet my water goal. As I leave today, I won't see her again. I want her to know how her kindness helped me heal faster. Keep being her.
