Ismael hands down was impressive with his knowledge and recognition. For all the questions I had during this tough time of my procedures and surgeries, he answered every single one crystal clear with effective information. If he noticed I was down, he made sure to see if I was okay or needed anything. If I didn't need anything, we would crack jokes because sometimes a good laugh was all I needed. He made sure I ate and let me borrow his phone charger when I couldn't go buy one.

When my parents visited, they also noticed his professionalism and his elite work ethic. And trust me, that's hard to do. I am grateful he worked my room twice. I had a nightmare, and when I woke up, he was standing next to me on his computer, super focused. He noticed I woke up and asked me if I was ok. I said no and gave him a brief rundown of my nightmare. He stared at me with close attention as he heard me out. His reply was, "Na bro, I got you. You are good." A weight lifted off my chest, and I relaxed instantly, knowing I believed him 1000%. He reminds me of a medic on a battlefield taking care of his band of brothers. I wish him the best of luck, his family, and his career. I'm glad he was a part of my life-changing experience at the hospital. Thanks to all Parkland and staff, and Ismael is the Michael Jordan of his profession and his position. Thanks for everything.
