Isabella Hernandez, an ED Nurse, deserves more than just The DAISY Award. I came into the ER with 2nd-degree burns on both of my legs. Isabella quickly made me feel comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of. She removed the bandages from my legs and so gently cleaned my wounds. It was several hours before the doctors I needed to see were available and she assured I remained comfortable, fed, and hydrated. After the doctor saw me, she delicately and professionally rewrapped my legs and gave me a small bag of supplies so I could change my bandages at home. As she wrapped my legs, she explained the importance of why she was wrapping them in a certain manner. She taught me the correct way to do it, which I believe greatly increased my healing time. Even 3 months later, I think of her with fondness.
