Her compassion, dedication, and kindness went far beyond what I have ever experienced.
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Nurse Imelda Martinez during my mother’s final moments. Mid-February of 2025, my mother was transferred from Villa Franciscan Rehab after undergoing physical therapy for a total hip replacement. Her condition took a sudden and unexpected decline, and within an hour, she was moved from the medical-surgical unit to neurology and then to the ICU.

It was there that I learned she had suffered acute kidney failure, and despite every effort, there was nothing that could be done to save her. During this devastating time, Nurse Imelda Martinez provided extraordinary care, not only for my mother but for our entire family. Her compassion, dedication, and kindness went far beyond what I have ever experienced.

She continuously updated us, ensuring we were informed of every development, never leaving us in the dark. Unlike past experiences where families are often left waiting for updates, Imelda made sure we felt seen, heard, and supported every step of the way. Her gentle and calming presence was a source of immense comfort during our most difficult moments.

In the face of such profound grief, her unwavering dedication was a true gift to us. I firmly believe that nurses like Imelda Martinez are one in a million. It is with the deepest appreciation that I would like to recognize Imelda for the incredible work she does. I will never forget the kindness and compassion she showed my mother and our family, and I will forever be grateful that she was by our side during my mother’s final hours. Thank you, Imelda Martinez, for your selfless devotion, for your love, and for the care you provided. You are truly a blessing!
