May 2026 Honoree
Hunnah Joseph, BSN, RN
I have been in and out of hospitals since I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of 12. From the moment I met Hunnah Joseph, she made the stay feel so much safer. Her energy was so calm and full of so much light. She felt like a guardian angel watching over me. We clicked instantly.
One night, I couldn't sleep, and she came into my room to give me pain medication. I think she realized I was having a hard time sleeping and was also very depressed because of everything I was going through. Hunnah pulled up a chair, and we talked for a little while. It made me forget that I was in the hospital. It made me forget how much pain I was in. It was nice talking to someone who was close in age to me and could relate to what I was going through from all that she's seen before. I felt so heard in that moment. That interaction meant so much to me. She would come check on me any night she was working, even if she wasn't my nurse that night.

Thank you, Hunnah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
