In memory of dad, we designated donations be made to the zoo, as that’s where he worked, and Honor even donated!
Honor went above and beyond her duty during the time she was caring for my dad before he passed. She was able to get permission for my mom to stay the night with my dad even though it was during COVID restrictions. She then proceeded to make mom a bed and pulled it up next to my dad’s bed for them to sleep. When we received news that dad’s cancer had spread, she petitioned for us (his 2 kids) to be allowed to visit also. We are so grateful because that ended up being our last day with him. She stayed on top of his pain medication to ensure that he stayed comfortable and brought us anything we needed (including coffee for my mom, which was huge because she’s addicted to it).

Honor met us at the front door and let us into the hospital when we got called in the middle of the night. You can tell that she genuinely cares for patients and their families and does not do “just her job.” She goes the extra mile. In memory of dad, we designated donations be made to the zoo, as that’s where he worked, and she even donated! We cannot say enough good things about her, and we were very fortunate to have her caring for dad and us. I work in healthcare and it’s easy to see the difference between people who enjoy their job and ones that are just there for the paycheck. Honor enjoys her job and goes above and beyond!

Note: This is Honor's 2nd DAISY Award!
