She was immediately so warm and comforting during this whirlwind of events. She explained everything thoroughly, like my medications, side effects, and next steps with delivery when I wanted.
Holly was the calm and reason I needed during one of the most exciting yet anxious times of my life. I was sent to the hospital after an NST appointment at 34 weeks. I had the idea that I’d go home that night but instead was admitted and induced. I had preeclampsia and was immediately put on a strong dose of meds. Holly was my following shift change nurse, but I had her for the longest time during my hospital stay for L&D. She was immediately so warm and comforting during this whirlwind of events. She explained everything thoroughly, like my medications, side effects, and next steps with delivery when I wanted. And gave me comfort and assuring words when she could tell I was anxious. There were times, since I wasn’t prepared to deliver my son so early, when she helped me advocate for myself. She thoroughly gave me my options and helped ME make an educated decision. She always read the room, and the whole time under her care, I felt taken care of. And taken care of someone who actually cared about my wellbeing and my son.

The following day Holly visited me down at another floor I was being monitored at with the charge nurse who worked with me the prior day. They came down to check how I was doing and even visited my son at the NICU since I wasn’t medically cleared to do so yet. Once again not even being assigned to her care anymore she still wanted to check on me and wanted to affirm I was in good hands and safe. During a hospital stay where I only had my husband and my baby apart from me - having her care to check in and still give me assurance meant the world to me.

The delivery was not what I necessarily thought it was going to be when I planned it in my mind, however I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. My nurses were amazing and truly were the best parts of my stay at Abington. Truly couldn’t recommend a team more. And whoever gets Holly to care for them during such an anxiety-inducing time, I know, will leave so confident that they were in the best hands. It’s nice to truly feel cared for by people who truly care and love what they are doing.
