August 2026 Honoree
Holly Medlock, BSN, RN
Our daughter was born 17 weeks early, and Holly was one of the first nurses we met in the NICU. We nearly lost our daughter about a month into this NICU stay, and Holly was by our side through every painful moment. My shoulder to cry on when we thought we were losing our girl. She was the first to notice something was off with our daughter that afternoon, and I believe her intervention enabled the team to save her. Her quick thinking is what brought the attention needed to catch the septic shock our daughter eventually went into later that evening. She acted swiftly, not just providing our daughter with the medications as the doctors called for them, but holding our girl's hand and mine through the worst moments of our lives. As I stood there crying for hours, Holly hugged us as she left and said, "I will see you both tomorrow, and we will get through this." She was right. Our daughter has faced so many trying moments, but Holly has been there for every one. Affectionately known to us as Aunt Holly now. She's been there for every hardship and every milestone our daughter has hit. Most recently, she helped my girl get to wear clothes after her PICC line was removed after 110 days. We love Holly, and there will never be enough thank-yous for what she has done and continues to do for our family.
Thank you, Holly, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
