Because of her compassion, I was able to pull myself out of the darkness I was experiencing.
Holly is an amazing person! She helped me make a huge decision to admit myself to Western Psych. I don’t think I could have ever made this decision without her compassion and willingness to share her own life experiences with me. I’m so thankful that she was assigned to me and was my nurse that day. Without her, I’m not sure what would have happened. She truly made a difference in my life.

Holly gets an A+ in therapeutic communication! A hospitalist who was not on service had been assigned to my mother, but Holly quickly corrected the situation and ensured the right doctor was assigned. She is a role model for all nurses when it comes to therapeutic communication. Holly was reassuring, empathetic, proactive, and always followed up. We are so appreciative of her words of encouragement and professionalism. Two quotes that stood out to us were: “Never stop advocating for your mother.” and “Thank you for doing your job so that we can do ours.”
Her compassion and advocacy made a lasting impression on our family.

Holly brought in a Super Ear for my dad, who we had just transitioned to comfort measures only, and because of her, he can now hear me, and I’m crying with joy. I had been his primary caregiver for the last nine months, and it broke my heart that he couldn’t hear my tone or voice. When Holly brought in the Super Ear, he finally could, and it brought me to tears. She went above and beyond and showed extraordinary compassion. She is an excellent, detail-oriented nurse whose kindness and empathy touched our family deeply. Thank you, Holly!

The week before I was admitted to the hospital, I was not only feeling very sick, but also struggling through a difficult bout of PTSD. I told Holly that I was triggered, and she immediately showed empathy and warmth, reassuring me that I was in a safe place. Because of her compassion, I was able to pull myself out of the darkness I was experiencing. I never felt alone, and her bubbly personality always lifted my spirits each time she checked in.
When Holly found out that I was in the hospital over Easter, my birthday, and Nurse's Week, she requested cake and ice cream from the kitchen and even had “Happy Nurse’s Week” written on the slip. That small act of kindness meant so much to me. Holly’s thoughtfulness, empathy, and genuine care have made a lasting impression on my life, and I am forever grateful to have known her.
