The patient arrived at the unit around 3:20 in the afternoon to receive a dose of methotrexate due to an ectopic pregnancy. When the medication was ready, I called this nurse to come down and give the injection because it was a chemotherapy medication. She came down and was so tender and sweet to the patient. She was having anxiety about her dose, and she talked to her and put her at ease. I held the patient while she gave the shots, and she was very reassuring. After she finished, she hugged the patient and told her she would be praying for her. They hugged again, and the patient cried on her shoulder. She really shows compassion in her nursing care and took the time to let the patient cry on her. She demonstrated compassionate care, and I strive to be like her! Thank you for the tender care you gave the patient.
