My nurse, Heather, was extremely compassionate. She did all the little things to ensure I was comfortable. I was in pain and respiratory distress, and she went above and beyond to meet my pain needs, ensure my husband was informed, and ensure I wasn’t overwhelmed from family visitors. She also looked out for my best interest by ensuring even my little pains, such as nausea and dizziness, were taken care of. She was extremely kind and communicative, informing me of everything that was being done and why in a professional manner. She made a very scary and overwhelming situation, the most comfortable it could be, and made me feel very cared for and calm because of her actions. ​

Heather's actions made my husband and me feel more at ease with the care I was getting. We felt informed about where I was in my treatment and what the plans were. She made the painful and uncomfortable moments tolerable by going above and beyond with the little actions and caring words.
