She is always assisting others with continuing their education, which shows she is a compassionate nurse and wants to better others' futures.
1st Nomination
Heather is a continuous support to both staff and leadership in our unit. Heather welcomes each new employee even before they arrive and coordinates scheduling as they on board. She takes into consideration the stress and anxiety that many people have when starting a new job and considers each individual's prior experience before tailoring a custom orientation. Heather collaborates with other departments to schedule new employees for shadow experiences and practice sessions.

Heather's skills checklist for new employees makes expectations clear, and her feedback during regular progress meetings is always supportive and encouraging. She is always professional and patient with everyone and sensitive to individual learning needs. Heather models great communication skills by always listening to understand and by asking for clarification to ensure she has a complete understanding of issues before she moves on to solutions.

2nd Nomination
As I moved into the role of clinical educator, Heather was so helpful and made me feel confident. She had a plan set in place for me and was willing to answer questions and provide feedback. If she didn’t know the answer to one of my many questions, she would find the resources. She is a true team player and is always looking to see what she can assist with. She does so much for our department, and during her free time, she teaches nursing students for their clinical rotations. She is always assisting others with continuing their education, which shows she is a compassionate nurse and wants to better others' futures. By joining this team, I know I will always be supported and have a preceptor with wisdom to work with.
