Haylee consistently went above and beyond. She wasn’t just completing tasks—she was educating, comforting, and truly caring.
I am the mother of a patient and would like to nominate Haylee for the DAISY Award. From our very first encounter in triage, Haylee made an immediate and lasting impression. She was informative, kind, soft-spoken, and incredibly patient, taking the time to educate us on things we didn’t even know to ask. As a first-time mom and a grandmother who hadn’t experienced childbirth in many years, her calm presence and thorough explanations meant everything to us. We truly felt supported from the moment we met her.
When we returned later, we were hopeful Haylee would be our nurse again—and to our joy, she was. She spent her entire 12-hour shift ensuring we were comfortable, informed, and prepared for every step of the labor process. She made us feel like we were her top priority, as if nothing else in the world mattered except our care and experience.
Although the delivery ultimately required a C-section, Haylee’s care did not stop when her shift ended. She came back on a later shift to check on both mom and baby, and even when we initially missed her, she made a point to see us again the next morning before leaving. During that visit, she took the time to educate us further—explaining why certain things occurred, offering guidance on positioning after a C-section, and providing invaluable breastfeeding support.
Haylee consistently went above and beyond. She wasn’t just completing tasks—she was educating, comforting, and truly caring. Her compassion, knowledge, and dedication were evident in every interaction. Even other nurses spoke highly of her when she wasn’t present, reinforcing the incredible impact she has on both patients and colleagues.
While every staff member we encountered was exceptional, Haylee is a nurse we will never forget. She made an overwhelming and emotional experience feel supported, safe, and deeply human. She is an extraordinary nurse and a tremendous asset to the patients and families she serves.
