September 2026 Honoree
Hannah Warburton, BSN, RN
Hannah Warburton is an excellent nurse. She is thoughtful, thorough, and kind. There have been several circumstances in which she has caught concerning clinical issues and has been able to address them with confidence and integrity. Recently, she noticed a pattern where her patients were calling in with low blood pressures, some near the point of syncope. After some diligent research and some uncomfortable conversations, she discerned that there was a glitch in the ordering process where this was unfortunately occurring. Her attentiveness to her patient's concerns allowed her to make this connection and rectify it. She spent many hours navigating this issue and keeping the patients safe.
Another example recently is finding incidental results with CCTA's. Previously, a radiology group would read these studies, but it has recently changed to the cardiologists, along with some changes in the results reporting. An incidental findings report is now generated but sometimes overlooked by providers. Hannah was reviewing her patient's recent CCTA and located an incidental findings report that showed a large pulmonary nodule. She was able to connect that some providers had not been reviewing these with this change in workflow and was immediately able to raise awareness and get the report to the patient's PCP for further assessment. Her diligence again provided patient safety. She commonly recognizes inconsistencies in many other areas and always asks for clarification if she does not feel the answer is appropriate. In challenging situations, she is collected and leads with integrity.
Hannah is the epitome of nursing excellence. Her consistent honesty in difficult situations is inspiring. Sometimes these conversations are not met well with some, but she does not let fear or emotions of hard discussions supersede her integrity. Truly honorable. Meanwhile, she does this all with a smile on her face and a witty sense of humor. She makes her patients and coworkers feel seen and safe. Her actions quietly and positively ripple through the clinic and community. We adore Hannah.
