Hannah is an amazing nurse. Our baby girl was delivered earlier than we had hoped due to my gestational hypertension and her being breech at 37 weeks. I also have a history of anxiety and depression, which made the delivery and recovery intimidating for me. The nurse was one of the first nurses we had during our stay at the hospital, and I'm very thankful that she was. She was knowledgeable about my recovery and made sure I was informed about what was going on to prevent me from becoming overwhelmed by the experience. She was very knowledgeable on how to calm my baby down and helped her to get gas out during day 2 cluster feeding. We were up very late that night without any sleep and she came to the rescue. She showed us how to properly swaddle our baby with a sleep sack, and during a crying fit from our baby girl, showed us various techniques on how to calm her down and get gas out. Something that stood out to us during that night was how well it felt like she was actively listening to my husband and me telling her our story while bouncing our baby to ensure she stayed asleep. She was the exact nurse we needed for the night, and we were so thankful that she was there to call on. When we found out we got her again for another night shift, we were over the moon watching the clock for 7 pm to hit so we had her knowledge and support again! Overall, it is clear that this nurse truly loves her job, values her patients, and appears to be respected amongst her colleagues, but she made my first few days as a first-time mom one I was able to enjoy and will never forget.
