Hannah Tesnow, RN

When a laboring patient arrived with significant, urgent socioeconomic needs, Hannah did not falter in finding solutions and supplies to ensure this family had a safe discharge. She went above and beyond to provide compassionate, patient-centered care, as she does each day she works. Hannah coordinated finding and donating supplies for this family at a time when they could not have done so themselves.

Hannah met the patient where she was and gathered all the necessary supplies for life with a newborn, along with many items that would make her transition into motherhood easier. Kelsey tirelessly made calls for social support. As a unit, we attempted to assist this patient but were unable to do so to the full degree that was needed; with persistence and dedication to their patient's outcome, they were able to bring the community together in a way that would not have been otherwise possible. They modeled all of Advent's service standards, especially in relation to caring for the whole patient, keeping them safe, making it easy, and loving them. With their help, this family can focus on loving and bonding with their newborn instead of worrying about where they will sleep safely, staying warm during the upcoming winter storm, or having basic items like a breast pump, infant clothing, bottles, wipes, etc. This display of uncommon compassion is just one of the many ways they care for our patients daily. Because of situations like this and the outpouring of love that they show, they deserve this distinguished award.
