I'd nominated Hannah for the DAISY Award because of the extraordinary compassion, advocacy, and above-and-beyond care she provided during my stay. There was a distressing situation where a serious communication breakdown occurred. I was not informed that I was scheduled for a procedure requiring anesthesia, yet someone suddenly arrived at my room to transport me. I was completely unaware of what was happening and was scared and confused.

Once she was informed, Hannah immediately stepped in with compassion and urgency to make things right. She worked closely with my care team to ensure I was fully informed before proceeding. She personally contacted the surgery team to find out what happened and advocated for me. She didn't just resolve the issue and move on. She checked on me multiple times a day, every day, and made sure I always felt comfortable and informed. She is the definition of what a nurse should be and more. Without her, my stay would have been very different, and I'm forever grateful for the care she provided.
