Hannah's medical precision, capabilities, and decision-making skills were exemplary.
Our 82-year-old Mom was admitted to Baptist Medical Health Center for double pneumonia. After four days, she wasn't getting better and was placed in the ICU.

Our family was shocked when Mom had a cardiac arrest in the ICU, and the doctors put her on a ventilator and an external pacemaker. She was immediately moved to the Cardiac ICU, and it's there that our Mom was fortunate enough to get Hannah Pickett as her nurse for the first two days.

With events unfolding rapidly, my sister and I were in shock, especially when we arrived in the Cardiac ICU room and saw our Mother with the tubes in her neck and the ventilator. Immediately, Hannah welcomed us to the unit with a big smile and an amazing balance of energy, positivity, and knowledge that helped us to calm down and become more comfortable in the middle of a crisis.

My sister and I sat with our Mom from morning to night and watched as Hannah worked tirelessly for two full days to make sure Mom was getting the constant care she needed. Hannah's medical precision, capabilities, and decision-making skills were exemplary. And, while performing her job, she was happy to explain everything medical that was happening.

I can't say enough about her compassionate nature, too. She truly cared about our Mom and us. When my 89-year-old uncle visited my Mom, Hannah kneeled down and held his hands when he became emotional.

Hannah was off work for the next four days that my Mom was in the Cardiac ICU. The other nurses told us she kept checking in on us. Sadly, our sweet Mom passed away.

We didn't get to say goodbye to Hannah, but she took it upon herself to find my sister's email and send our family a message.
