Hannah is an exceptional nurse. Hannah entered the room to introduce herself with a smile (even under a mask) on her face. She radiates joy! Hannah explained what orders she currently had, how they would be navigated, and asked for the best way we could work together to make our care work most effectively.

Hannah was always checking in to make sure I wasn’t needing anything. She went above and beyond to help my husband, and I find a deck of cards, so we were able to have some entertainment for the day. Hannah apologized for a large miscommunication of the “status” of our room. My husband and I were here for my care from three hours away, and my husband had not been able to stay in my room with me for the last two nights.

This was a huge out-of-pocket cost for us, as he had to stay at a nearby hotel. Hannah ensured that our room was private and that my husband could stay. Not only did she ensure this, but she also found him a bed, so he was comfortable for his stay. There were many emotions happening with my husband and me. Ranging from the diagnosis (non-surgical, but medical), being away from our children, our financial hardship, and just being drained from the last couple of nights in the hospital.

Hannah took time out of her day to sit down, listen to us, ask questions, and be completely sympathetic about all the things we were anxious and concerned about. Hannah is an asset to Barnes-Jewish Hospital and does a phenomenal job. Her characteristics align with what a great nurse looks like.
