Hannah was one of the nurses we encountered when our father (Veteran) was a patient in the Dementia neighborhood at the Tomah VA. We felt like he’d always received great care, but in his last days, Hannah was someone we will never forget. As my father was passing and unresponsive, she sat on his bed next to him. She held his hand, sang to him, and stroked his hair. Hannah treated him like her own family member. Above and beyond that, she continually checked in, not only on him, but our family as well. Always asking if we needed anything, talking us through tests results, and offering hugs that were warm and full of compassion. Hannah is one of the best nurses I’ve ever encountered, and that’s saying a lot considering I have a healthcare background too! Hannah is a true DAISY Nurse.
