After he died at BSW, Hannah, with the help of the hospice nurse, secured a US flag and arranged for their own Final Farewell.
On 12/3/24, my friend's husband died in 402. The day before, when he was a little better, my friend had hoped to return him to the VA nursing home so that when he died, that nursing home would give him a Final Farewell ceremony, military style. But then he took a turn for the worse and was unable to go to the nursing home.
After he died at BSW, Hannah, with the help of the hospice nurse, secured a US flag and arranged for their own Final Farewell. She asked my friend what music she wanted played, found it, and played it. There must have been 20 nursing staff lining the hallway with their hands on their hearts when the deceased veteran was wheeled out under the flag.
That meant an incredible amount to my friend. Hannah and the other staff were continually kind, patient, and compassionate to us throughout the whole day. A hundred thank-yous to them all!
