I have had a very bad year. In March I was in a car accident which resulted in me breaking several bones, ending up in a wheelchair, and my 9-month-old daughter died in that same car accident.

I have been hospitalized several times due to blood infections, hardware malfunctions, and bone infections. I am now pregnant and have been experiencing several medical issues resulting in more hospitalizations. I met Hanna when I was feeling defeated, I was in a lot of pain and was in a very bad mood. Hanna instantly made me feel better.

The level of care she has given me each night made me feel important and heard. The entire staff on this floor has been great, but Hanna has gone above and beyond to care for me. She offered to change my PICC dressing because it did look disheveled. I’m allergic to adhesive, and she called around the hospital to find the dressing that wouldn’t irritate my skin so much.

She checks on me throughout the night, even when I don’t need anything. She stayed in my room to comfort me and to listen to me without even knowing I had just been crying. When I mention things in simple conversation, she will find the answers for me without me expecting it. She definitely changed my demeanor and outlook on my visit this time. I was frustrated and did not want to be admitted. I actually look forward to seeing her on the evening shift.
