I am honored to nominate this nurse because she is an exemplary nurse in every way. She is the kind of nurse every nurse should strive to be. She is the kind of nurse other nurses can turn to for questions or advice, and you will always get help. She not only has strong nursing and clinical skills, but also a strong moral compass. She is always doing what is best for her patients. It would be difficult to tell just one story about how she has impacted patient care or helped the team because, on every shift, she does this multiple times. If you need an IV, no matter how busy her day is, she stops to help. If you need advice on a patient's treatment, she always has a helpful answer. If she is needed for circulating, triage, or lunch coverage, she is always available and does the job well. Not only do her coworkers notice, but the patients see what an incredible nurse she is, too. Patients often request her when she’s available. She’s constantly furthering her education and learning to be the best nurse she can be for her patients. Working alongside this nurse every day is such an honor and privilege. She is the nurse everyone should strive to be and would be lucky to know. Her care should not go unnoticed, as she embodies the qualities of the DAISY Award. She shows up every day, honors the human spirit, provides extraordinary, compassionate care, and treats everyone she cares for with dignity and respect, while being a team player and demonstrating clinical excellence.
