She not only took care of my sick little boy, but she also assured and comforted me as we had to walk down this hard, scary road.
Hailey was our angel during a very scary situation. My son was being transferred for the second time to Children’s due to respiratory distress from influenza A and pneumonia. He was agitated, hypoxic, scared, dehydrated, and burning up with fever. We had exhausted our options at our current hospital. When Hailey came through those doors, Mommy and Daddy were able to breathe a little easier, knowing he was headed to a place that would help him. Hailey not only brought my boy to the hospital, but she also nursed him back to health in the 3 days we were in the ICU.
Hailey was patient and so kind. She reassured Mommy that her boy was in the right spot and would get better soon. She was incredibly patient with my son; she explained everything she was doing to help him in a language he could understand, which eased his fear. She giggled with us when my boy would do or say something funny. She ensured he understood what was happening and confirmed he was comfortable with everything. When we were moved to step down, my son looked at me and said he missed Hailey being his nurse. The nurses on the step-down unit were incredible, but Hailey made such a big impression on my 7-year-old that he wanted only her to take care of him. Words cannot express how grateful I am for her. She not only took care of my sick little boy, but she also assured and comforted me as we had to walk down this hard, scary road. I cannot express how thankful I truly am to have such a beautiful, caring nurse stand by us in such a strong, loving, and reassuring way. I cannot thank her enough!

Hailey was the absolute for our daughter, M, as she was recovering from a huge scoliosis surgery in the Pediatric ICU at St John's Children's Hospital. The procedure was complicated for her and was also very hard to watch as her parents. On the morning of the second day of recovery, Hailey was assigned M as her patient and instantly made our lives so much brighter with her sense of humor, empathy, urgency, and most of all, knowledge. We owe our fantastic stay at St. John's to Hailey, as she continued her extraordinary level of care for M for four of the eight days we were on the St. John's Pediatric Floor. People like Hailey make this harsh world a better place! Thank you, Hailey, from the bottom of our hearts!

My Wife and I would like to take a moment to express our gratitude for the truly impactful stay we recently had on the pediatric floor at St. John's Children's Hospital. Our daughter recently had a sizeable spinal fusion to correct her scoliosis and was admitted to the pediatric floor for the 8 days over Christmas. The Physicians and RNs on the pediatric floor at St. John's Children's Hospital are phenomenal! Knowledgeable, caring, upbeat, positive, and patient are just a few of the many qualities that come to mind when we think back on our stay at the Children's Hospital. Most of all, we find it very important to recognize Hailey as one of the most exceptional Pediatric Registered Nurses we were lucky enough to have caring for our daughter through her very difficult recovery. Hailey cared for our daughter for 4 of the 8 days we were at the hospital. We mean it when we say this - Hailey turned her world around and made what seemed to be an impossible recovery possible. The world would be in a better place if it were filled with more Haileys!
