If you don't have the pleasure of knowing Guna, you are truly missing out. Guna exemplifies every standard of excellence set by both SVH and the nursing profession. First and foremost, Guna's compassion and integrity shine in every interaction with patients or colleagues, on any given day. She exudes a tender compassion at the bedside that would make Florence Nightingale proud.

During nurse leadership rounds, every single patient reports that they feel her true caring Spirit. This past year has been a challenging one here at SVH. While some have struggled, Guna has risen to every change and challenge asked of her when her home department stopped seeing patients temporarily, Guna happily joined the medsurge team. Then, during times of high volume and acuity, Guna was asked to cross-train in the emergency department. She has taken each pivot in stride, while keeping her patients at the absolute forefront of her practice. She does it all with grace and quiet calm.

Most recently, Guna has taken on the immense responsibility of orienting a new staff member. By her example, they have worked holidays, night shifts, and come to work on "off days." Guna is one of only a handful of nurses across the facility who can work in all three of our clinical areas. That is true accomplishment.
