I'm a 55-year-old single mother with severe anxiety who takes care of a special needs son at home. I was unexpectedly admitted due to a really bad infection that I developed. Because I was admitted, I missed my vacation that had been planned for a year, which was leaving the next day with my autistic son.

From the very beginning, when I met Guerline, she gave me compassion and reassured me that things would be okay. I was in so much pain, could not keep food down, and I was extremely scared. She went out of her way just to talk with me to help get my mind off of what was going on, and to help the tears stop - not realizing after our conversation that the pain medicine already kicked in, and I wasn't thinking about the pain anymore.

There are so many wonderful nurses out there, and I appreciate everything they do. Unfortunately, I have a lot of medical issues in the hospital, but I want to recognize her because of just being so compassionate. She puts patients first and does so with a big heart. She understands what we're going through and helps us get through a bad situation. For that, I am so grateful for her care. AdventHealth is so lucky to have such a wonderful nurse like her. And I thank her for everything that she did for me.
