My dad was admitted to the ICU. Gretel was his nurse for the day shift all three days Dad was there. Gretel was the advocate we needed her to be and was patient-focused the entire time. She was compassionate to our family, took time to answer any questions and concerns we had. She was never too busy or had an air of annoyance.
Gretel is the epitome of what a nurse is supposed to be. She went out of her way to care for my dad, to be his advocate, and took care of me and my siblings. Gretel made sure my dad was not in pain and sat with him and held his hand so he wasn't alone when he passed away, and I will be forever thankful knowing that. Thank you is not strong enough to say for what she did and for being the person and the Nurse she is. Gretel is one of a kind.
