Gregory Arlt III, RN
From the moment Greg Arlt walked into the room, he changed what could have been an intimidating experience into one that felt safe and manageable. Even though I was likely one of the healthier patients there that day, he treated me with the same level of attentiveness, dignity, and compassionate care as everyone else. That meant so much.
Greg immediately earned my trust through the way he communicated. He explained every step of the infusion process in language we could clearly understand, answered questions thoroughly, and made sure we felt informed and comfortable before moving forward. He never rushed us.
Instead, he created a space of reassurance and confidence, which made all the difference in an unfamiliar environment.
When I experienced a mild reaction and needed to pause the infusion, Greg demonstrated remarkable clinical excellence and critical thinking. He responded quickly but calmly, acting methodically and with clear purpose.
He paid close attention to my symptoms, made appropriate adjustments, and ensured I was stable and comfortable before continuing. His ability to balance urgency with composure made me feel completely safe in his care.
What stood out most was his genuine compassion. He offered encouragement and thoughtful reassurance about how I should begin feeling better and what the normal timeline would look like. We were discharged only when we felt truly ready to leave—not rushed out the door.
Greg embodies the Ochsner mission of caring for patients and families with excellence, compassion, and teamwork. He absolutely went above and beyond my expectations. Though I sincerely hope I never have to be there again, I would absolutely ask for Greg to be my nurse without hesitation. Because of him, what could have been a stressful medical experience became one marked by confidence, comfort, and gratitude. I am deeply thankful for his care.
