It was definitely Gracia and her efforts that saved his life and enabled patient safety.
Gracia is an amazing bedside nurse. Her selflessness and genuine act of compassion reflect her as a role model to other nurses. Gracia consistently goes above and beyond for her patients. She connects with them on a personal level and gives them a sense of comfort and safety. She always takes time to complete her job right. Gracia’s kindness and dedication when she takes care of acutely ill COVID patients and the amount of time she spends in their room comforting, giving special attention to their personal hygiene, explaining every single detail to them is amazing.

One night when the bed alarm went off in a confused COVID patient’s room who was on a high level of oxygen. The patient was found almost slipping out of the bed with oxygen tubing thrown away and the O2 monitor alarming continuously due to critically low 02 saturations. Gracia rushed inside without thinking twice, holding him back in bed, preventing him from falling to the floor. She applied his oxygen back and stabilized his levels, position him correctly, assisted with his hygienic needs, and made him comfortable.

It was definitely Gracia and her efforts that saved his life and enabled patient safety. Most importantly, Gracia was not the Primary Nurse for this patient. Her selfless act and kindness towards not only her assigned patients also each and every patient she comes across.

Another patient commented that Gracia is so soft and kind in everything that she does that she leaves the room with “an Air of Peace”. Thank you Gracia for all that you do!
