I truly believe my father would not be here if it were not for Grace's attention to detail, compassion, and ability to connect with both patients and family.
Grace received a whole family's nomination for the DAISY Award. Here are excerpts from the 5 letters:

Grace's far, far beyond the call of duty attitude and love for her patient and their family create a high standard for other nurses to emulate. She gave hope, advocated for me, and communicated with my family. She was truly an angel from above. I have made a full recovery thanks to Nurse Grace and her dedication.

During my father's 30-day stay in JMC ICU, I truly believe my father would not be here if it were not for Grace's attention to detail, compassion, and ability to connect with both patients and family. Grace had the ability to say what we needed to hear while also being direct and truthful. We met a lot of nurses during my dad's stay, but we will never forget Grace. She is an asset to the medical field.

After contracting influenza, my dad ended up in septic shock, diabetic ketoacidosis, and myocarditis. Upon entering the ICU, the information firestorm and emotional roller-coaster ensued. Grace stood out; she checked in more than expected and made it her mission to understand and share with us all that was happening to our dad, even on the days he was not her patient. As a confused, anxious, and distraught family, she gave us hope and included us in his care when able. Simple things like bringing his favorite music and reminding him of funny family stories lifted our spirits day after day and night after night. She showed up every day with grace, love, care, and kindness, and we are eternally grateful.
