In one of the most painful moments of this woman’s life, Glynda provided more than just medical care—she provided comfort, compassion, and humanity when it was needed most.
I would like to nominate Glynda for the DAISY Award for her extraordinary compassion and selflessness. She consistently goes above and beyond for patients and their families, and one recent event truly exemplifies her kindness and dedication. One morning, a patient arrived in the ED via EMS with what was initially thought to be stomach pain. His wife followed in her car, unaware of how drastically their lives were about to change. What seemed minor quickly turned into a devastating medical emergency. Tragically, despite all efforts, the patient coded and passed away. His wife was completely alone, with no family or friends to call for support. Overwhelmed with grief, she leaned on Glynda, stating that she simply could not get herself home. Without hesitation, Glynda stopped what she was doing, took the woman home herself, and ensured that her neighbor was there to support her before returning to work to finish her shift. In one of the most painful moments of this woman’s life, Glynda provided more than just medical care—she provided comfort, compassion, and humanity when it was needed most. Glynda’s actions that day were a true reflection of what it means to be a nurse. She consistently goes above and beyond, not just for her patients but for their loved ones as well. Her kindness and selflessness deserve to be recognized, and she is truly worthy of the DAISY Award.

I would like to nominate Glynda Meadows for the DAISY Award for the extraordinary care she provided to my mother after she suffered a STEMI and was admitted to the CVICU. Glynda's attentiveness and compassion made an overwhelming situation feel more manageable and hopeful for our entire family. From the very beginning, Glynda was not only incredibly caring and attentive to my mom's medical needs but also deeply supportive of our family's emotional well-being. She took the time to explain what was happening, answered our many questions patiently, and always made sure we felt included and informed throughout the process. One moment that stands out as especially memorable was when Glynda connected with my 4-year-old niece during a visit to the hospital. She brought a stethoscope and patiently showed my niece how to listen to hearts, turning a frightening environment into a moment of curiosity and joy for her. That simple act of kindness and inclusion meant so much to us. It reflected Glynda's ability to honor the humanity of every person in the room, regardless of their age. Glynda's compassion, skill, and warmth made a profound difference in my mother's recovery and in our family's experience during a difficult time. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the DAISY Award.
