She by her singular effort brought hope to a section of people who have been neglected by everyone.
Ms. Gloria Sarkodie Addo is a senior mental health nursing officer working with the community psychiatric unit of the Shai Osudoku District Hospital and currently studying community and rehabilitation specialist training with the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives During the COVID-19 period, with her own resources supplied vagrant mentally challenged people on the streets of Accra with face masks, hand sanitizers and areas they could have their hands washed with the aim of helping them to prevent getting infected. These were people who were sleeping on street corners, and bus stops and with no proper shelter and care. She provided them with food, ensured they had their bath, and trained them to acquire skills. She by her singular effort brought hope to a section of people who have been neglected by everyone. Her compassionate care caught the attention of all including corporate organizations and DAISY Awards Ghana. She was thus nominated and honored for her exemplary compassionate service to the neglected in society.

This is Gloria's 2nd DAISY Award!
