Gleb Malakhov has been working on R4West for the past two years and has stood out as one of our nursing stars. He is a dedicated and compassionate nurse who is committed to providing quality nursing care to our patients. He works tirelessly to assist patients and coworkers alike. He shows up and says, “Let me help,” whether the patient is assigned to him or not. Mr. Malakhov does not hesitate, nor does he argue, when he has to float to another unit; he often says, “I don’t mind floating, nursing is nursing.” He is professional and courteous and is a source of information to his colleagues, a coach and mentor to new staff. He makes himself available to help his patients and coworkers. He spends time with patients, listening to them while providing a comforting and calming presence, especially in crisis situations. No task is too mundane for Mr. Malakhov; he does whatever needs to be done to ensure safe, quality care for the patients—from making beds, assisting with ADLs, or taking patients to the porch for quiet time. He is a patient advocate who collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality care. Mr. Malakhov brings the care, the humanity, and the compassion that our patients deserve.
