March 2026 Honoree
Gina Urbine, BSN, RN, AEC
Gina is, without question, the most phenomenal leader I have ever had the privilege to work with.
During a time of unexpected and challenging job changes, changes that were not of my choosing. Gina stood by me with unwavering support. She did not just offer words of encouragement nor stated she is available for any questions; she showed up consistently, took charge and help guided me, checking in regularly, making herself fully present and available whenever I needed additional guidance, clarity, or simply someone to listen.
In a time that could have felt isolating and uncertain, Gina made sure I felt seen, heard, and valued.
Her communication style is one of her most remarkable strengths. Gina has a unique ability to deliver even the toughest messages with honesty, empathy, and respect. She listens with genuine intent, never rushing or dismissing concerns, and always responds with thoughtful, actionable insight.
Whether through a quick check-in, a sit-down conversation, or even just a well-timed note of encouragement, she has a way of making you feel supported and prioritized. She balances transparency with kindness, ensuring that no one ever feels left in the dark or unheard.
Gina builds an environment grounded in trust, mutual respect, and open dialogue. Her door is always open, not just physically, but emotionally. You always know she is truly in your corner. She advocates relentlessly for her team, both behind the scenes and at the table where decisions are made.
Her leadership has helped shape not just the way I work, but how I view myself as a professional and a main reason as to why I am in the role I am currently. She has empowered me and so many others to move through difficult times with resilience and grace.
Gina does not just lead; she lifts. Her presence elevates those around her, and her compassion, insight, and dedication reflect the very best of nursing leadership.
I am incredibly grateful for her and proud to nominate her for this well-deserved recognition. She is the glue to our department and the main reason for such a high retention rate within the Allergy and Immunology clinic.
