She was an absolute breath of fresh air after a stressful 48 hours. Her kindness and concern radiated off of her. She was so kind to my son but also always made an effort to make sure that I was OK as well.
We walked into the Emergency Room because my son A was having an asthma flare like no other. I was so stressed out and scared. We had been to Urgent Care just the night before and went straight to the ER department right after his doctor’s appointment, things declined on the ride home so I opted to just go with my gut and go to CHOP ER. Gianna took us back from the waiting room and told us that she’d be our nurse. She was an absolute breath of fresh air after a stressful 48 hours. Her kindness and concern radiated off of her. She was so kind to my son but also always made an effort to make sure that I was OK as well. She checked on him frequently, made breathing and medication-taking fun and stress-free for my son, and won his heart with a red popsicle! She engaged with A about the different Disney movies he was watching to keep him distracted and engaged. I don’t have enough words to explain how absolutely thankful I am to have her as our nurse, she is incredible and I must say CHOP is so lucky to have a nurse as amazing as she is.
Gianna, if you’re reading this, thank you, with my whole heart, for helping Little A, he is my whole heart and soul, and for making sure his mama was ok too. When he asked for water, I know you brought two cups, not because “they are small” like you said, but because you wanted me to have something to drink, and as thirsty as I was, I didn’t want to bother you because I know you're super busy! But you did that out of complete compassion, and I cherish your care for our little guy. I hope you always get the acknowledgment you deserve, and I hope you go very far in whatever you tackle in life, you deserve everything great in life, you are a superhero in a profession that many can’t endure, so in a system that is tough as it is, moms like me, are so thankful for nurses like you. I’m sure we’ll probably never cross paths again, but I wish you well always. Thank you!
