Ghazi joined King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in 2012 and currently serves as Senior Nurse Manager of the Operating Room—one of the most critical and complex units in our oncology center. He is a shining example of what it means to be an outstanding nurse leader. His leadership style was built on a foundation of partnership and respect. With a career spanning more than 25 years in the nursing profession, Ghazi brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role.

Ghazi has been instrumental in creating a safe work environment for patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the Operating Room. He has ensured a well-coordinated setting where multidisciplinary teams work seamlessly, even under the most demanding circumstances. Ghazi demonstrates an exceptional ability to balance operational efficiency with the highest standards of care and clinical excellence, ensuring that every surgical procedure begins and ends with dignity, respect, and trust. His leadership has made a tangible impact on both his team and the patients they serve, and his commitment to building a high-performing team is evident in every aspect of his work.

Ghazi is deeply committed to patient safety and continuous quality improvement. He has led and actively participated in many multidisciplinary initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, improving the quality of care in the Operating Room, and optimizing resource utilization to reduce costs. Furthermore, he has consistently supported and facilitated nursing-led quality projects, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives focused on patient safety and clinical excellence. In addition, he has secured essential resources to ensure the success of the unit’s quality improvement efforts. His dedication to empowering nurses through professional development activities, mentorship, and ongoing support has strengthened the culture of safety and collaboration within the surgical team.

Ghazi is an exemplary nurse leader. He consistently turns obstacles into opportunities, ensuring seamless operations in the Operating Room. Moreover, his meticulous focus on operational details and proactive problem-solving approach has optimized Operating Room workflows, improved efficiency in clinical practice, conflict resolution, supply chain management, and supported optimal surgical outcomes for patients undergoing complex cancer procedures.
