I was admitted due to gallbladder complications, and the first day was so confusing. I was put on an NPO diet and hadn't had anything for 2 days.

On the 24th, Gerry was my nurse. I explained my concerns to her, and she assured me that she would find some answers for me. She contacted my surgical team and asked them what the plan was. They determined I could have ice chips, popsicles, and lemon ices. Gerry came in and explained everything to me, and gave me a lemon ice. That ice tasted like filet mignon. She also calmed me down and explained the process.

She is so kind and such a gentle soul. I’d ask her for an update, and she would jump on it. Her warm smile brightened my day. Nobody wants to be in the hospital, but having a kind nurse like Gerry really helped. Not only is she nice, but very, very good at her job. I witnessed her deal with a difficult patient, and she was just as kind to them. She has a warm, reassuring nature about her. She never complained and always had that same smile. You should know that Nurse Gerry is a gem. I've heard her colleagues speak of her fondly as well. To quote, “Gerry is the Best nurse here,” is what a tech said. She rocks!
