During my stay, Georgia made an incredible and lasting impact on both me and my family. She consistently took time out of her day to see what was going on, how I was doing, and what she could do to help. Even when she was incredibly busy, she would sit with my family and me and genuinely listen. Her attentiveness extended even to the moments when my family wasn’t there, and that alone speaks volumes about the kind of nurse she is.

Georgia continuously went above and beyond to advocate for my needs while making sure I understood what was happening. She would explain things to me a second or even third time without ever making me feel like I was a burden. She would research things for me and my family, look for other options we could explore, and always ask what else we could try. She never complained, and no matter how difficult the day had been, she would walk through the door with a smile.

What makes Georgia so special is that she never forced me to do something I wasn’t comfortable with or didn’t understand. If I disagreed with something, she would ask why, listen to my reasoning, and work with me to find a compromise. When I couldn’t advocate for myself, she advocated for me. But more importantly, she taught me how to advocate for myself better.

Georgia always pushed me to be the best version of myself, and that is something I will never forget. My level of care and my experience in the hospital would not have been nearly the same without her taking matters into her own hands and making sure I was heard, understood, and cared for.

Georgia isn’t just an ANM. She is the oil that keeps the entire machine running. After seeing the compassion, kindness, advocacy, and genuine care she gives so effortlessly every single day, I can only wish that every patient has the opportunity to experience the level of care she provides. I owe Georgia more than she will ever know, and I am incredibly grateful that she was part of my care.

Thank you, Georgia, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
