Gelly Ann Ringor Rana, BSN, RN
Gelly Ann was such an amazing, amazing nurse who cared so tirelessly and effortlessly for my brother. She showed such compassion. She treated my brother with dignity and respect and treated him like a human being, even though he was completely unresponsive at first.
She would involve him in the treatment by speaking to him, explaining what she was doing, and asking if it was okay — again, even if he was unable to answer. She treated him with such care, concern, and respect, even though he was in a helpless situation that was out of his control.
She also showed such compassion and kindness and was so gentle with us as family members. She took the time to explain what she was doing and what was being done. She would share what his numbers were and whether things were within normal ranges. If she was changing IV bags, she would explain what she was doing, what she was changing, and maybe why it was needed.
She did her best to reassure us about his status and explain what a good patient my brother was being. She is just such an amazing, amazing person.
So, our whole family just wants to say how much we appreciate her and value her as being part of the team involved in supporting my brother’s life and doing all that they can to ensure that my brother is getting the best treatment possible.
So again, just a huge shout-out to Gelly Ann, and we thank her again for her amazing service and care.
