I was on a weekly chemo regimen for twelve weeks. My first interaction with this nurse was on my first day of chemo, when he inserted the access. He carefully explained everything to me, which made me feel comfortable — especially since it was my first time having my port accessed as an outpatient. During that same time, he was also teaching a colleague how to prepare the medications. I was impressed by his patience and the way he shared practical tips to help prevent mistakes — you could really tell he was committed not only to patient care but also to guiding others. Every visit to the UNIT, he would greet me and ask how I was doing. That simple gesture always puts me at ease.

From the moment he accessed my PORT up to the administration of my medications, he consistently showed compassion — just by simply asking how I was, making small talk, and reassuring me whenever he had to titrate the medications. Those little interactions made me feel genuinely cared for. His bubbly personality is something I always look forward to whenever I visit the center. It helps lessen my worries and anxiety every time I go for treatment — and I truly believe that positivity and kindness like his play a big role in a patient’s overall recovery.
