Well, Mr. Garrett was always checking on me and helping me understand what was happening. He was always thinking of what would make it better, like extra tape on my IV so it would not snag and fall out. The tape did not stick to my skin so he wrapped the IV to be comfortable and hold in place.
What I liked the most about Garrett was when one of my visitors was a nurse. I asked him to talk to her "nurse-to-nurse". He gave her a complete run down. I told him thanks because I knew she would ask me questions I could not answer. He always had a great attitude!
All my nurses were great, very calm and helpful. Garrett was especially calm and caring. You can tell this is more than just a job for him. Thank you, Garrett, for making this visit good.

Garrett was my very first nurse on the Pulmonary floor once I was admitted. From the moment he introduced himself, I felt very relaxed and comforted. I was under Garrett's care for the first three days of my stay.
Garrett was incredibly professional, all the while remaining completely relatable on a personal level. We were able to talk about our families and my medical information, all without skipping a beat.
At one point I had a hospital doctor in my room explaining results of one of my tests. Garrett was in the room and when the doctor left, he explained to me what the results meant. It was very upsetting and I began to cry. Garrett excused himself, tracked down the doctor and brought him back to my room so he could answer my questions and settle my nerves. Garrett even brought printed information for me to read. He did not have to find the doctor or give me a printout. Those simple gestures meant so much to me. Thinking back I tried to remember if I ever had to call for Garrett. If he said he would be back at 3:00 with meds, I could almost set my watch to it! He always kept his word.
Garrett was compassionate and considerate, not just to me but also to my friends and family. He is professional, consistent and reliable. I was sad when his three-day schedule was over. Everyone who has to endure a hospital stay should be lucky enough to have a nurse like Garrett care for them.
