Gail was a night nurse when my mother was a patient at St Francis. My mother was put on the fourth floor the first evening that it was reopened because of the need for more beds at the hospital. Gail was patient and caring. I could rest each night knowing that my mother was well cared for by an excellent nurse. I was very impressed and pleased with the excellent care that my mother received.

My 85 year old mother was taken by ambulance to St. Francis after a fall in the middle of the night. She was diagnosed with a fractured pelvis and put on the fourth floor. I spent every night at the hospital with my mother because she has memory problems.

We met Gail the second night that Mom was in the hospital. Gail made a lasting impression on our family. She provided excellent care physically, and emotionally. Her nursing skills were exceptional. She could anticipate the needs of my mother and took care of them immediately. She was never in a rush to leave Mom’s room, but took her time to answer questions. She went out of her way to find out information when she was asked about my mother’s condition. She listened to stories about Mom’s life. She enjoyed hearing about Mom’s love of dancing.

Gail was caring and kind and she took care of the whole person not just Mom’s physical needs. We were so excited to see her each evening and we truly enjoyed getting to know her. She helped make my mother’s stay in the hospital a very pleasant experience. I can honestly say that I have never met such a kind, caring, and skilled nurse as Gail. St. Francis is blessed to have her on staff. We are so thankful that we had the pleasure of getting to know Gail and see her in action as a superior nurse. She made a lasting impression, and I will never forget her!
